Quintessence: Quintessence 28"x24"x24" is exhibited in Sun Valley, Idaho at the Gail Severn Gallery. It is constructed of granite and cast bronze river rocks. The granite is carved from four inches to one inch in the center of the disc. The horizontal line of negative space becomes a powerful element in the sculpture visually as well as structurally, the river rocks are cast out of bronze and were rocks that originally were found on a river bank, their purpose is structural as well is providing a focal point for the piece.
